More Than Words
Sculptor Greg Todd is a Goodland native. He started sculpting with stone and welded steel in 1970, then started sculpting in bronze in 1989. He has been working in bronze ever since. “People always want to know where I get my inspiration,” he said. “I draw my ideas from my personal experiences and interests.”
Statue was erected in 2004 by the Senior Housing Corporation, Brenda McCants, President, and donated to the City of Goodland.
One of Todd’s earlier works, They Came to Stay, is across the street on the Sherman County Courthouse grounds. The Central School Bell and a benchmark are near the Broadway Avenue entrance. The beautiful District Courtroom is on the second floor.
