You can help restore the United Telephone Building and maintain the Ennis-Handy House by donating to Sherman County Historical Society. In order to gather funds, the Society is holding three fundraisers this fall.
Historical Society Garden Party Sept. 13

The Society will provide the meat, table service and drinks. Guests should bring side dishes and lawn chairs. Enjoy scavenger hunts, a cakewalk and entertainment. The party is part of the historical society’s membership drive. Membership costs $25 per year.
Mystery Dinner Theater Oct. 26-28
The annual mystery dinner theater performances will be held at the Ennis-Handy House. The curtain opens Friday through Sunday Oct. 26-28. The Friday and Saturday performances start at 6 p.m. and the Sunday performance at 5 p.m.
This year’s play has a Western theme. “It has a great cast with people who interact well with the audience,” Lonnie Whiteker of the Historical Society said.
Match Day Nov. 27
Sherman County Community Foundation will host Match Day Nov. 27. The event’s hours are from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Goodland Public Library, 812 Broadway. Philbrick and Whiteker encourage people to donate to the Society. Last year’s Match Day funds have already been invested into the telephone building.
