Arapahoe Sun: Goodland’s northernmost painting on an easel
The GHS students chose to use images from Native Americans who lived in Northwest Kansas. They studied the Arapahoe Sun Dance as the inspiration for their original work. Students used images important to Native Americans, a snake, a buffalo and a skull.

Tour The easiest way to view all the paintings on their easels is to start at the van Gogh Project painting, “Three Sunflowers in a Vase“. Then go northeast to Chambers Park for “Picnic in the Park”, northwest to Gulick Park for “The Big Rooster” and finally northeast to Rosewood Park, Spruce and Willow, for “Arapahoe Sun”.by
